I swapped my 3.8 for the HO 5.0 and kept the wiring harness from the computer to the engine but not from the computer to the instrument cluster. So when I swapped my old cluster that didn't have a tach and a volt gauge for the cluster that came with the 5.0, the original wiring didn't have the wires for them obviously. I had to rearrange the wires in the existing plugs to make everything else work. So my question is, does anyone know what I could do to get the both to work so I didn't have to get an aftermarket tach. Because my car is the El Cheapo version and it totally looks like a sleeper and I would like to keep it that way as much as I can. I really appreciate any help.

What year is your car, and what year is the engine and harness the 5.0 is from? That might help get you some answers

Doesnt the 91 only have one larger connector by the brake booster where the dash harness meets? and the 92 dash harness has two large connectors?

I didnt think the 91 engine harness was compatable with the 92 dash harness.

Ya I think 91 can only use a 91 harness? But I am not sure

90 only
91-93

I thought you said you swapped from a 3.8 to a 5.0? they never offered a V6 in the 87-93 mustangs....

92 T-Bird. It's not exactly a Mustang. But it's definitely a sleeper. Sorry to confuse you. I don't know about the plugs though.

I'm really looking for an 87-93 Notchback with a 4 banger. That's my dream car. But till that happens I've got the bird as a toy.
