Take off parts. Anybody done it??

There is a couple of websites out there that offer take off parts w/ factory paint & w/ less than 5 miles on the parts. http://www.newtakeoff.com/ is one of them. Has anyone tried this and the paint match your car. I know it's factory color but that doesn't mean it will match perfect with two different cars w/ same paint.

I've got a 06 GT (redfire) w/ less than 4,000 miles on it and was backed up into (while I was parked ). Damage doesn't look bad BUT it was hit in 3 places on the car: fender, hood, bumper. And head light & turn signal must be replaced. Insurance will not cover new hood, they just want to knock it out and fill it in. I don't want that, I want my baby back to new!

Never done it. From what I understand, these are parts replaced by Roush, Steeda, etc. when they convert the factory cars.

ive purchased from newtakeoffparts.com before, i ordered front and rear bumpers and found them to be alright. the front bumper had a haze and a small scuff on it from where the shipping film was put on and where the grill had rubbed on the paint, but they cleaned up nice. note that they don't guarantee the product free from defects. i would see how much they are from ford. i think you can get them from the factory already painted.

Picked up a tranny, shifter, and knob from newtakeoff.com for 07stangGT's tranny swap. The parts were brand new. No complaints here.

I had a very reputable company send me a rear bumper cover once. They "folded" it to save money on the size box they needed. That "cracked" the paint.
There's money to be saved, but like what was said, perfection is not guaranteed when it comes to paint. Removing a body part can often scratch it.
I would also compare Ford's prices to the take-off prices and the possible need and expense of paint.
Ford, I would think, would stand behind new parts. There is no guarantee with take-off parts. They in fact warn you that there may be scratches.

Here's an example. Ford wants around $300 for a shifter assy. Newtakeoff wants $50. They are new parts, so any scratches would probably be worth it.

I bought a front bumper cover from http://www.newtakeoff.com/ for my 06 Tungsten gray GT after a biker kit my front bumper cover and put a nice hole in it. The paint matched perfectly and the bumper was shipped very nicely. No complaints here, the price was good and the product was great.

Hey man, I have a hood and front bumper I will sell you CHEAP. I replaced mine with about 10 miles on the car. The color is performance white and I'm in North Carolina.

Just to add in late and all but I've purchased my leather seats as takeoff's as well as just added 4 new bullitts with pirelli's to my take off list!
