Eh... My wife can parallel park between two cars that are closer than I'm comfortable with and she'll hit neither of them...

On the other hand, my neighbor across the street is a guy that seems unable to park his Acura in any less than two spots at a time... And he has a driveway while my house doesn't, so he sucks up two spaces in front of my house with his one car.

Before anybody suggests it... I wrote him a nice note last month, before I knew which neighbor it was. Last night, I went to YouParkLikeAnA@#$%)(*.com (I think you know what those random characters are) and printed him out a "ticket" from there. LOL

So I'm assuming that this isn't your wife?

YouTube - why the "asian women are bad drivers" stereotype will never die out...

Nope. And for every person that perpetuates stereotypes of women drivers I can find at least a matching bad driver that's a guy.

Tell me about it. I do a lot of driving for a living and I can tell you that sadly 90% of drivers out there are downright garbage in terms of skill and that's on both sides of the equation.

Before you get me wrong with stereotypes and what not I was referring to the content of the video rather then a title someone may have placed on it. Seriously 5 minutes to park a car with ample room and hitting the neighboring cars 3 times in the process is downright criminal. Someone like that should not be allowed to have a license.

My new desktop at work!

My office is loaded with prius and hybrid drivers (manufacture fuel cells) so that should raise some eyebrows at my next meeting

My license plate frame says

Yes, you're right Walter, that the problem is not with the cars, but the people who think that just because they drive one they are better then everyone else and deserve special treatment. And that is why I will protest every time that I go to that building and park in one of those spots. There are designated handicap spots because people who are handicapped may have difficulty walking an entire football field to go into walmart, and that is only fair for them to have designated parking to help meet their needs. Of course, there are LOTS of people who have handicap tags that do not need them, or that borrow them from friends or family. And I know a couple of people who have hang tags and would benefit from using them, but refuse to because even though it might be easier, the extra walking does them good, and there are others with a far greater need for the spots. But giving "Car Pool" and "Fuel Efficent" cars special parking right up fromt is plain discrimination. It is not done out of need, but simply another justification of the "holyer than thou" attitude.

Also, as far as U.S. available fuel efficent cars go, particularly hybrids, the Prius is one of the best. It actually has decent passenger room, it does actually have some usable cargo space, and the acceleration is decent. One of my co-workers drives one, and he's always sneaking up on me because I can't hear him coming......LOL He really likes the car, but to him it's just A CAR......not a way of life. I really like my Mustang, and I take alot of pride in taking care of it and modding it. But, i don't think that I'm better than anyone else because of it.

Well said, I tell people that I am a Car Guy. That doesn't make me some kind of fundamentalist fanboy like some people turn into when they get a particular car they associate with.

I like different cars based on their merits and what they do and am never afraid to cross into other realms if it can be done and have fun while doing it. I think that's why the car scene has fizzled out in the recent years. I go to car meets regularly (check out my Houston social group on Stangnet I'm always trying to get people involved) and they just aren't what they used to be. 5+ years ago you could walk to a car meet and you see people mingling having fun and exchanging all sorts of information about their rides sharing their passion.

Nowadays it's nothing but cliques that give you ugly looks when you show half assed interest in what they got going on. That's true on both sides of the spectrum. I've been to meets where the "domestic" guys and even Mustang guys just kinda look at you when you want to talk about this and that and just stand there. That's the type of attitude that's ruining the car scene and taking the enjoyment out of the hobby.
