Anything better than common electrical tape for wrapping wire looms and connectors? Electrical tape separates too easy and quickly.

What's out there?

I have zip ties for attaching things but I have wire looms that are taped at the ends and even 3M tape separates under the heat. No matter how much I wrap the ends they still peel right away. I want something the ends will stay stuck.

When you put the tape on, don't 'pull' it tightly around on the last little bit. Instead, just roll/press it on (if that makes sense, hard to describe) but it will peel if you pull it tight on the last revolution ....
