The first time I went out, I had a small burst of flames from my front brakes (or so I was told). It turned out to be the grease from the wheel bearing. I had to get them replaced... But, I didn't have anyone run at me with a fire extinguisher.....duner said:Not fire just smoke

Not at the brake check -- he did comment several times on the horsepower coming down the straights. Funny thing is, I think the Cobra is a bit of a dog with the stock pulley. It's a real shame, too. I don't know if I have the story down. But, when I talked to Jim, I think he said he had been coming through the turn in 3rd gear. And the instructor said he could use 4th. Anyway, something about shifting when coming into the corner, his rear wheels either locked-up, or he got wheel-hop. And this sent him out of control. When he got onto the grass, it was like skating on ice. The pictures say the rest....Rootus said:

Man, that ride in the RX7 was awesome!!! I had a death grip on the rollbar, but I loved it. He was really pushing that car.
My instructor was very specific about doing all of the braking & downshifting before turn-in, and then staying on the throttle through the turn. Mastering the art of rev-matching would seem to be a worthwhile goal.
