ok i have had this 95 gt for like a year now(now i know it has a chip what kind i dont know was in there when i got it) and the temp gauge has always read just before the "n" on normal(and fan would come on and off all the time i am guessing due to chip) one day i was driving and i noticed it was half way ,i am not over heating it never went any higher then then that but i was worried i changed the waterpump, flushed the system and put in a 180 stat it stayed in the same spot i tried a 160 stat (because i thught thats what they use when they install a chip am i wrong)same thing. and also once the car warms up the fan does not shut off stays on(probably due to the chip settings) ,i know thats not a bad thing but i am trying to get to the rout cause its kinda pissin me off..lol any ideas why all of a sudden this would change? any i deas an di thank you in advance.

Get an after market gauge for a better more accurate reading b/c the factory gauges are not that good at all. This happends to me every now and again the factory gauge will not move past the O for agout 3 months then all of a sudden coming to a light it goes up to the A, and will act this way for like a week then return to normal its weird . Do a search and see what others have done to cure their cooling problems.(P.S it is the summer so that might have something to do with that. At least in South Florida its normal)

My factory gauge was and still is not very accurate. I think water wetter does no good at least not in my car.

Water wetter did NOTHING for my car, and to put the ford guages into perspective, my oil gauge hasn't EVER worked, then other day I was leaving the mall and bam, working oil gauge...

ok even if the gauge is wrong (but i dont think it is) and why i say that is because before this my fan would just come on anf off when needed now it stays on all the time when the car is running of course once the car warms up not just when i turn the key or start it?..any ideas on that one ..oh yea and hwat about the black thing under the car that i wrote about on here to?

I was told by more than one drag racer that in a V8 engine two bottles of Water Wetter is the way to go. I definately noticed a difference in engine temps. I run cooler now than with stock pulleys. When I put the 180* stat in the temp went down even further. As for the stock gauge mine has been solid. Only got 85,000 miles on the ticker though. Also, just replaced the IAT and ECT sensors recently. You might want to replace those sensors too so that you EEC will have accurate readings.
