Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
When it's not, the switch light isn't working either.
Time for replacement or a bad connection somewhere in the circuit?
When I bought my car I had the same thing, ended up pulling the switch out and seeing how someone had spilled soda on the switch. After a good cleaning, it has worked fine ever since.
