Terrible alignment cc maxed out!

After putting a d&d tubular k member, 175# drag coil overs, a-arms, lakewood struts, mm caster camber plates, x2 balljoints, a bumpsteer kit, and skinnies up front I had a lot of negative camber and all they could correct it to was to 2, or negative 2. Its not slammed in the front or anything either, I have about 1.5-2 inches between the tire and fender. The alignment tech said it was maxed out, is there anything I can do about this? You would think all those parts would make it work decently but Im vibrating like crazy at 60 mph and its driving me nuts.

Ideas anyone?

I would try going to some where else to see what they say. That happened to me but then i looked and my camber plates the shop put them on backwards. So that was my problem. But you should be able to get it right with cc plates

how can u tell if they are on backwards? Anyone else have some input?

The [upper] plates can be put in the "positive" or "negative" position. MM has instructions on the website. Positive works for most cars, according to the MM instructions so it sounds to me like the plates are now in the negative position and they need to be swapped.

It is not difficult to do. Take of the strut nut, the three or four nuts holding the top plate, swap the plates (put the left plate on the right side and keep the top plate in the same orientation as it was on the left side/put the right plate on the left side and keep the top plate in the same orientation as it was on the right side), install all the nuts, and you are ready for another alignment.

I just checked the cc plates and they are in negative orientation. The alignment as of right now is

LEFT FRONT: Specified range:
camber -2.2 -1 to -.02
caster 3.5 2.5 to 4
toe . 14 .05 to .2

RIGHT FRONT
camber -1.3
caster 3.8
toe .14

So by swapping it into positive orientation I should be able to adjust the camber properly into the specified range?

Bingo. MM's CC plates are able to be installed either way. The way you have them in right now is for a pure track-oriented setup.

So either switch up the plates, or go buy some autocross tires and carve some crazy ass corners.

Try another aligment shop. One that has a better reputation or more aligment customers. Give them the specs you want and have them work on it. Just my thoughts.

I talked to my mechanic on the phone and I don't know who to believe now, he said that switching the cc plates to positive will make the alignment worse? You guys all seem to be pretty sure about this but I just wanted to recheck before I go spend money on another alignment.

It's just called the "positive" orientation for the plates, that doesn't mean it will only give you positive camber (teh really bad). You can get a little over a degree negative like that, which is more than enough for a standard alignment.
