terrible front end squeek! HELP!!

this is possibly the most annoying thing ever. I get a squeek from the drivers side front of the car when I turn,(mostly to the left), and when I go over a bump, or push down on the car. I got underneath, and could not locate it at all. sprayedWD and greased everything, it still wouldn't go away. any ideas? what joint down there moves when turning the wheel, and vertically?

check out the strut plates. They have rubber bushings and whever you turn the wheel the strut turns in them

Lube your balljoints there is a grease fitting on the bottom you can't lube them with wd40 get a grease gun. If they aren't lubed they will SQUEEK
big time or at least mine did. I lubed everything accept them trying to get rid of my squeek and I mean everything but it was the ball joints.

When I had a squeek when turning my wheel... it turned out to be the inner tie rods.

I see in your post that you are getting steeda x2 ball joints thats what I have and thats what was squeeking, It seems my installer either figured they were already greased or forgot anyway just a heads up.

It's hard to say because I had them installed with alot of other stuff=
Eibach pro kit springs, Bilstein shocks & struts, MM cc plates,Steeda aluminum lower & upper controll arms, Steeda bumpsteer kit and X2 ball joints, offset rack bushing. The car handles WAY BETTER no comparison.

i had a end link bushing get thin & it caused a bad squeek too. so you may want to check there too. & don't forget about the bushing under the a arm i replaced them & all was well

I had a similar squeaking problem. It turned out to be the outer tie rod ends. I'd say jack the front of the car up until the tires hang, then put your hand on the ball joint on the tie rod end and move the wheel side to side. When I did this, I could feel the vibration coming from this joint. I cut open the plastic covering the ball joint and worked in some grease. Sqeaking went away, but I had to replace the tie rod ends with ones that i could periodically re-grease.

I believe he is right the stock ball joints don't have a grease fitting like some of the after market ones like my steeda's, maybe thats why the knucklehead didn't pack them when they were installed ( get new ones that have a grease fitting and buy a grease gun and they will last forever)

thanks guys. I greased the joints w/ a grease gun, and it went away slightly-meaning its not as loud, but still annoying. gives me some time till i get to the shop
