Florida will get up there in the end. Imo they are the best team in the SEC, they will beat UGA and Bama in the champ game probably easily in both cases. I would still pick a 1 loss Oklahoma or Texas over them but UF will be top 4 easy at the end imo.

as much as i hate to say it, a 1 loss OU or UT is probably better than a 1 loss UF.... but the thing is, you cant have both UT and OU get in, so that helps us out. the only other thing we can pray for is that idiots dont vote OSU or USC above the SEC champ, and that penn state loses a game....

otherwise, the big 12 winner is gonna have one HELL of an easy national champ game.... LAME!

If PSU wins out, they'll get in. If OSU beats Penn State, you don't have to worry. After that last 2 years, no way OSU gets a chance with that ugly loss to USC as long as there are one loss teams in the SEC and Big 12 and a 1 loss USC.

i wont (cant really) argue an undefeated penn state.... but if OSU wins it out, and get into the NC game, i'm going to raise living HELL for that. i totally agree with your statement, and hope to GOD that the voters think the same way. SADLY, that is not how it's based. they vote on namesake, not on how you perform. i HATE that, but what can you do?

Why couldnt a one loss Oklahoma play an undeafeated Texas? Id love to watch that game again. If they are truly the two best teams and have 1 loss at most why not put them in the game?

Ok why do most SEC fans assume that if Penn State would go unbeaten (not that they will) and make it to a title game that they would get beaten badly? I mean Ohio States short commings in big games of late shouldnt affect another team. Penn State is very strong this year as evident by their results. They have done quite well in bowl games as of late and i think would put up a helluva tough game agaisnt anyone they played. I wouldnt suprised if they won it all really.

I mean no one is holding the fact that Florida got pounded by Michigan last year against Florida or any other SEC team this year. Two different seasons and two different teams.

why not OU? there can be only ONE big 12 champion. the championship games weigh HEAVILY on the outcome for the NC game. seeings how UT and OU are both big 12 south teams, only ONE of the 2 will play in that game. that means if UT wins out, and wins that game, they're likely in. the sad part is, OU doesnt stand a chance of playing UT due to how those games work.... just how it goes

2nd, i feel penn state doesnt have a chance at all to win the NC game due to the fact that they have not proven whatsoever that they can beat a strong team. sure, they can pull off 30+ point wins against no namers..... but, hey, who (that is good) cant?

i mean, holy cow! they beat coastal carolina!? oregon state!? syracuse!? temple!? illinois!? purdue!? wisconsin!? michigan!? you see my point yet!? their best win is a 14 point win against illinois. that's not much in my book. sorry..... if they win it all, i would be HUGELY surprised...

dont get me wrong, i'm not saying, by any means, that UF is going to win it all this year. they played ONE game as the team i hoped they'd be, and the team that could win the NC. if they keep that up, my opinion will go towards them winning it all. if they slump back to the way they played the first few games? yeah, they suck, and wont win it all....

i agree that last year is last year, and it means nothing, but at the same time, we have to keep thinking of it that way, because that is all that it is...... last year.....

Your whole argument is based on your opinion that the SEC is the far superior conference. While there is some merit to that argument, it is not a fact. We don't know for sure that is the case. You are making your argument on the assumption that Ohio State played their best in the title game the last 2 years and that those performances are representative of the Big Ten as a whole. I could just as well say the SEC isn't that good since U of F lost to a U of M team that lost to Ap State last year. Looking at it that way, I could argue that the SEC is only a good 1-AA conference.

i'm not too sure where you're getting this "making your argument on the assumption that osu played their best yadda yadda yadda." i didnt mention past teams performances AT ALL in my response. i mearly stated that the teams penn state beat THIS YEAR are pretty bottom level teams THIS YEAR....

and that last statement about the losing to michigan thing, i stated "i agree that last year is last year, and it means nothing, but at the same time, we have to keep thinking of it that way, because that is all that it is...... last year....."

I am not basing anything whatsoever on PAST years playing. i am basing it on the wins/losses of this year.

Yes because Citadel, Hawaii, Miami, are super strong OCC games right? You are acting like your **** dont stink. Very few teams have incredibly difficult OCC schedules.

You can say whatever you want about the Penn State schedule, but Penn State never had a close game against a team on the level of Ole Miss, let alone lose at home to them. They have beaten everyone on their schedule by at least 2 TD's including two against other BCS teams in the OCC. Its not their fault that Syracuse is awful this year. Oregon State isnt exactly a cup cake considering they did beat the #5 team in the country. Illinois and @ Wisconsin aren't exactly cup cake games either and are just as good if not better wins than UT, Miss, Arkansas, or Miami. Oh wait thats right you lost to Ole Miss...

If Penn State beats Ohio State at their place that is just as good if not a better win than beating LSU. Im not saying they will, but what will be your excuse then for thinking they are not that great?

Ouch. That game sucked. MSU must have thought the game was in Columbus. Hopefully OSU does good next week against Joe Pa and the Lions. Hopefully MSU gets their heads out of their butts and doesn't loose to Michigan next week. It'd still be a good year for them if they can finish third in the conference.

maybe you missed one of my statements....

"dont get me wrong, i'm not saying, by any means, that UF is going to win it all this year. they played ONE game as the team i hoped they'd be, and the team that could win the NC. if they keep that up, my opinion will go towards them winning it all. if they slump back to the way they played the first few games? yeah, they suck, and wont win it all...."

that is me saying that NO, uf has NOT played better up to this point. we had one good win, and one amazingly stupid loss.

none of these are "excuses," they are merely opinions, and are stated as such. if penn state beat OSU, then they're lined up for the NC. good for them! if they go undefeated, hey, that's something UF couldnt do, and UF doesnt deserve to go over penn state at that point.

also, i never said anything about OOC games vs conference games. i'm really not sure where these statements are coming from....

i am saying all these as opinions, which i am entitled to, and i really dont think i'm going to continue to try to state them. it's hopeless....

The Big 12 is pretty strong this season but Texas has the upper hand unless the wheels come off. Texas still has Ok St, Texas Tech and Kansas. OU still has Texas Tech and Ok St so realistically they could wind up knocking each other out.

I don't think the SEC is strong enough to make it without two loses. LSU will take down either Bama or Georgia. If Florida gets to the SEC CG they will go down to the West winner. Two loses won't make it this season.

Well, your argument was downplaying the Big Ten big time and Penn State's opponents in particular. That couldn't be based just on this seasons performances.

One of those vaunted and super fast SEC defenses is currently getting torched by a Big East team. WVU crushed Auburn, 31 straight points.

Auburn scored more points on LSU than WVU.

Well I hope my Longhorns win this week it will be tough. IMO the best conference this year is the Big 12, slightly over SEC. I feel who ever wins the BIG 12 will go to the BCS champ game and prob a SEC team if they don't have 2 loses.

Auburn has no defense and is in a meltdown.

Check this Saturday for a REAL conference battle.
