... FORD SVT!

Forgive me if you knew this but I just learned it. I was watching a show that had a CCX on it and they did a very quick glimpse of the engine but I recognized thoes heads and intake right away
So I just did some reserch and while they dont show it on their home page I did find what I was looking for. And the thing runs on gas OR diesel, makes 1018hp on biofuel

But how about that? They wanted to make the fastest car ever and out of all the engines they could use, they choose a Ford modular engine

I so want the carbon fibre tid bits

Yes, it is very cool. But you're a few years late on this - so much so it's not the fastest production car anymore (although still holds the record for highest speeding ticket in Texas).

Yeah, I know that was a couple years ago but while I knew of the car and have seen a couple on TV, I never knew it was a Ford engine in it

Besides, the SSC UA has been to 257 and the CCX has seen 258 but 252 was a more repeatable speed

IIRC The original Koenisenissnigsdad was powered by a DOHC Ford, but the new one is built in-house.

Sean Hyland was selling some of the carbon fibre pieces, i know they had the valve covers at least.

i am sure they are pricey though. I always figured if I got new covers it would be the blue Ford Racing ones

Actually ford has nothing to do with those engines but I know who built the originals .

Pleas expand on your response. Is that not a Ford engine? Sure looks EXACtLEY like a Cobra engine. The first pic looks like a dead ringer for a 99/01 Cobra engine

I think he is saying Ford didn't put the engines together.

It's definatly Ford though.

There is no hiding it from the wide DOHC heads, the intake manifold, alternator position, and the coolant tubing around the alt.

my guess is to either run gas in it and go or put diesel in it an go. It would probably still use spark plugs unless theres so way to switch.

From Konisgegg web site:

The CCXR will take you to an entirely new level of performance. It is a derivative of the CCX, with a highly modified engine that can run on E85 and E100 Biofuel as well as normal 98 octane petrol (Europe). When run on regular petrol, the 4.7 litre twin-supercharged Koenigsegg engine delivers 806 Bhp, but this figure rises to an astonishing 1018 Bhp when the car is run on E85 Biofuel.

edit: NM i read "biofuel" as "biodiesel" My bad, never heard of biofuel before.

Well, the guys who originally built their engines visit this site once in a while. They can respond if they want. Its a bad ass engine and it may be Ford but Ford has zero to do with the longblock.

I must of missunderstood your original post. I thought you were saying its not a Ford engine.
I can understand it having better internals and it does have a dry sump oiling system. I would be suprised if they didnt use the forged crand native to that engine but can see better pistons/rods and all the other "little" things to withstand 1000+ hp. And I am also sure they did some head work as well. But the basic archetecture (sp?) is Ford. I wonder if they used the aluminum block or if they had a new one recast in aluminum?
