Went under the car today my POS 1994 v6 mustang and see coolant leaking out of what appears to be the timing cover right behind the waterpump, or whatever cover the waterpump mounts onto. Is it possible for coolant to leak out of here? This sucs I was just starting to make progress on the Mach 1 and this problem now which will probally be diffacult and expensive to fix. Never buy a ford 3.8l , This is my second engine in it and allready the headgaskets went and now this.

Stuff is gonna happen when you deal with cars (or women). Did you do the above mentioned work yourself?

Agree regarding your POS evaluation of the 3.8. It is indeed possible for the gasket on the timing cover to spring a leak. It is usually caused by "deferred maintenance" of the cooling system. (Not keeping he coolant "fresh".)

The headgasket fault is so common that Ford recalled ALL 3.8's but I think the recall has now been lifted. I'd imagine the car is now too old to be eligible.
