Which one is the best? And what are the Pros/Cons

Besides the obvious power gains, I wanna hear from those who have tuners installed.

There have been 2 reported blown #8 on with Lund Tunes from what Ive seen on different forums.

Stay away from the aggressive tunes. His 93 street tune has safe timing, lambda is +-1 .84 and knock sensors are stock. Also Amazon has a great tune.

There is a new TSB from Ford that anyone thinking of modifying their 5.0 coyote should read. Basically these engines completely stock are running a lot closer to the ragged edge than any Ford motor in the past has. Because of this Ford is cracking down on engine failures where there is evidence of aftermarket mods having been done to the vehicle.

By law they still have to be able to prove that what you did had a detrimental effect on what failed. i.e. if your transmission goes out, and they say your powertrain warranty is void due to a CAI and Cat-Back, then they're wrong. However, if your piston blows out and you have a tune, then you're pretty much screwed. I myself am waiting on the engines and the tunes to be more proven before I do it, and also maybe if people like SCT and Diablosport could find a way around the data logging to make it look like you haven't been tampering with your calibrations.

There is of course one alternative. Use a Ford Racing Performance Parts tune instead. Ford can't void your warranty if you use their own products.

That TSB is not really a "statement" of the engine living on the ragged edge. Basically there have been reported failures of pistons that have been due to aftermarket tuning. This new processor and twin VCT should be left in the hands of the pro's such as STEEDA, JDM and others that have knowledge of software and hardware, Joe Blow's dyno shop isn't going to cut it. If they where on the edge then FRPP would not have a 624HP supercharger kit.

I didn't mean to suggest that the 5.0 is running on the ragged edge. I only meant it is closer than previous Ford engines are in stock form to that edge. All its going to take is a slight air/fuel ratio miscalculation, spark advance miscalculation, VCT error, and/or some detonation and you might be looking at big problems, where as there was more leeway with say the 4.6.

No one, and I mean no one knows these engines better than Ford themselves. I agree it should be left in the hands of the pro's. That is why I would trust FRPP more than anyone else when dealing with modding the new 5.0, especially after reading that TSB. I assure you that FRPP's 624HP blower package (along with their other kits and performance upgrades) are much more thoroughly tested and developed than any aftermarket supercharger kit & other performance parts out there.

Yeah this is what i was wondering,

I did have a 2010 VW GTI (awesome little car btw) and i had an APR tune (the steeda of the vw world) and it was very safe. I dont want anything that will be dangerous for my engine at all. Maybe waiting and seeing someone put 30k+ miles on a 11-12 gt with a tune will help persuade me

Talked to Ford today re: Ford Racing tune and it will void your warranty. Ford seems to be serious about calibrations changes.
