Wile Coyote's stunt double
A friend of mine just bought one and he said it is a kick in the butt . The one i am looking at is the Spider crossbow .Found them at The Crossbow Store in El Monte Cali . for around $160 bare bones or $199 with scabbard ,bolts ,and a choice of scope or red dot .It is a 150 pound compound bow .He says he can pull it back with out needing the rope and it is very accurate at 100 yards ,just sounds like fun .

I have shot a bow for years ,but my shoulder will no longer handle that
so this may be the next best thing .New laws are headed our way for guns and ammo and after recent events i wouldn't be surprised if the guv doesn't start collecting our guns .It's coming ,wait and see:nonono:
I figure i will stock up on arrows ,until they ban those . At least i will be able to hunt squirrels and wabbits when the zombie pocalyps hits.

Wow ! Just watched a video on The Crossbow Store web site ,blurry but just the sound and the speed the bolt hits :nice:,definitely going to order one.
The problem is the damn bolts cost more than bullets  They have a scope or a red dot scope that comes in the package deal ,and they have a green dot or red dot laser that attaches to the scope, sold separately, and that is what i think i will order .

Make sure you get a good target that can stop those bolts without damaging them! They cost more than bullets, but should be reusable. You can also get a variety of tips. Be very careful with the broad heads, look for videos on YouTube of what a light contact of the broad head will do to a bow string!

I have a crossbow it fun, got it for deer hunting, still take my bow though its more my style.

I have a cheaper barnett there is a string cocking device you will need to get and you can go have fun. It gets boing after a few weeks fyi.

Those targets are almost as expensive as the crossbow its self, over a $100. Going to glue a bunch of card board together about 6 inches thick with a hay bail behind it .

It comes with broad heads in the package deal. I have cut a string with a broad head before ,the string is like a whip when it snaps ,especially on a bow over 50 pound .If you happen to be leaning over the bow you could really get hurt .

This one ,you can cock without the rope .My friend said it is a bit tough at first pull then it gets into the compound part and pulls easily.

Went to the local Indian casino last night and won 700 dollary doos:D
Ordered it this morning ,only fitting that the Indians buy it for me don't you think?:rlaugh:I just ordered it with the red dot for now ,i can up grade later .I hope to get it around Friday . I will get a couple of straw bails for a back stop ,and i saw some styrofoam sheets at home depot about
2 foot x 6 foot and 2 inch thick .thinking about getting about 3 sheets and gluing them together for a soft target .

you'll need a bale + 3-4 of those sheets to stop one. otherwise you might need lessons from those indians on finding arrows :p

Please video the first 3 shots... I think there's a chance a bolt from a 150# bow will breeze right through that.

Keeping that in mind (possible misses), make sure there isn't something expensive behind the target. ;)

I hunt with a crossbow. That being said, do yourself a favor and spend the money on a real target. Even if you do stop a few bolts, the Styrofoam will break down and get weaker allowing your bolts to pass through. Targets are cheap. Also, get some field points for target shooting.

This would be more than enough for your crossbow:

Drop me a line if you decide you want to get into hunting with a crossbow. I'll help you out!
