i have an 02 gt premium manual with 36,500 miles on it. as of now i have Steeda Tri-ax, MustangTuning o/r x-pipe, flows, K&N, and waiting to get an extended warrenty to install my steeda pullys and saleen kit. i am planning on adding 4:10's and a predator tuner to the mix also. i kno with those bolt-ons i will not be running as fast as i want to (low 13 range). i kno forced induction would be the way to go to get there with my daily driver, but i dont have the funds for it, and i dont want to exert the continual pressure on the engine. that is why nitrous caught my attention. what would be a good set up for me? remember this car has to last me at least 5-6 more years, so i dont want anything extreme that will melt my pistons. sorry for the long post, and thanks for your time.

If your that worried about tearing something up and it's your daily driver don't do it. Spend the money on suspension and dr's. That will net you low 13's and on a perfect pass you may hit very high 12's!

do you honestly think i will get into the 12's, much less the low 13's, with minor bolt ons? maybe if i had 4v i would think it possible, but with a 2v, and making maybe 260 to the wheels, and stock rims (not going to put dr's on my daily driver in the rainy season), 12's seem very doubtful to me. but then again, i may be dumb

Well, I think we are all looking for more power, that seems to be the only thing that never changes... but my 2 cents: I wouldnt do it with a daily driver. too hard a hit, WOT and just one missed shift, would probly be bad. It's not worth it... a blower seems to be a better way to go, just not overboosed for the street!

With just a BBK CAI, Steeda cat-back and o/r x I was able to hit 13.7 on street tires. I don't see why with dr's and some susp. mods you wouldn't be able to hit low 13's or very high 12's. Just depends on whether or not you can drive!

Well, I won't call you dumb, but here's what Ken at MD has to say about that...

Most PI headed cars will hit the 245-255RWHP mark with basic mods (Pulleys, Timing Adjuster or chip, O/R H or X, K&N or other type of high flow filter and although not a power mod…gears 4.10s or 4.30s). For a bolt on GT this is enough power to get the car into the 12s after you follow the other steps. Keep in mind more power will make it easier to reach your goal or help offset more weight (see next section) but it can be done with less.

The other steps he's talking about can be found here.

Good drag times depend on a lot more than power. Once you're done the basic bolt ons for power take a good look at your suspension and as was mentioned, tires are critical. After that, it's practice, practice, practice.

One missed shift will do nothing even when spraying, as long as you spend the extra $75 and get a window switch Do any of you people who are so scared of n2o ever read any threads or articles about how it works??
Get yourself a nex wet kit or a venom dry kit or something and be done with it. Making a 250rwhp GT a 12 second car is definitly possible, but n2o is definitly the cheapest way to the 12 second area

IMHO if it's a daily drive and he wants the car to last 100hp from nitrous at the track will prolyl do less damage then 100hp from a blower ALL THE TIME. But thats considering all things equal and it's turned well. Nitrous with a nice tune, and a window switch will be pretty safe. The problem if without the window siwtch to cut off at a certain RPM if you safe bouncin off the Rev Limitter and still sprayin (espicially a dry shot) you not gunna be happy. Also might be carefull about traction control cause if your sprayin and
