I have been fortunate enough to suffer some plug issues in the past several months with my car, I blame myself for not rechecking the plug torque and never really pulling them to check that they were Bosch plugs...

I have found some used sets of Windsor PI heads and am thinking about purchasing a set, and swapping in some Hitech's or CMS NA camshafts.

These heads seem to be in very good shape from their mileage and from a reputable seller online.

My questions are, what should I be expecting to pay, for a set of heads to be cleaned up completely and seals and springs replaced? How how much more for porting work? I have a buddy's dad who has a machine shop and does work like that anyways.

After that, how much should I expect to have them installed and tuned? And I will probably get new tensioners etc. too.

I am just really frustrated that my 120k mile DD seems to be starting to go down the bad road, although, everything else with the car is working perfectly, it isn't smoking, accelerates smoothly and handles the way I want besides from steering wheel slop, which will be fixing soon anyways. Any other suggestions would be good.

I am probably going to go look at these heads and a set of ported ones here for sale locally.

If they are Romeo heads, what else do I need to swap these on?

For the heads, you shouldn't have to pay more than 150-200 bucks, if they are in good condition. Install, and tune, you are looking at anywhere from 1200-1500. Most shops will do a headswap for around 600-1000, then a dyno tune is around 300-500.

A little update to my story, I am having a popular local shop swap some PI heads off of a 2000 Police Interceptor Motor that was in a rollover. The car just got picked up earlier tonight and hopefully will be done in the next two days.

I was looking at a nice set of Patriot stage 2's for sale here locally, but it needed some valve work that I didnt want to pay for..
