I either need a 2011 GT vert or a Terminator Cobra. Money is leaning towards Cobra, which I would love. My 03 GT is too low, tranny is clunky. I love it most of the time but sometimes I hate it. Ready to move on I think. Any idea how much more insurance would be roughly? I know everybody's different, just wondering if maybe somebody did the same GT-Cobra insurance upgrade.

If you can honestly afford a termi or 5.0......why the hell did you get a GT in the first place?

Its not a finacially intelligent choice......but then again, hardly anyone makes those anymore

Just a fun 2nd car for me. I don't see any reason I'd need to get a terminator as my first fun car ever, especially since it wasn't in my price range at the time. Hell, I never heard of a Terminator before I bought my GT.

Thanks for your concern.

You're absolutely right. If you can afford it, then get a termi and dont look back. You'll LOVE it! Its just the poor college student mentality in me lol

Well what is your budget? Going to use a bank to purchase the car? It'll likely be easier to finance a new car over a 7 year one however it really just depends on what kind of money you plan on spending.

I had enough cash to buy a brand new Cobra at the time but a $10,000 GT with a few mods and wheels and 33,000 miles seemed like a better choice at the time than a $20,000 Cobra.

I would get a new 5.0
As much as i love the 03/04 cobras, im just not finding any clean ones for sale these days. All the nice ones have found their rightful homes, and all the other ones always have something fishy going on. Im sure there are a few good cobras out there, but with the new 5.0, man, you're getting a WHOLE lot for a $35k (or somewhere in that price range). Goodluck with your search.

as a kid when the Termis came out, i always had the dream of getting out of college and landing a steady job to get that car. Now with the new 5.0's and what they offer, that dream of mine is fading rather quickly. surely the cost is quite a bit different between the two right now. but when 5.0s start increasing in the Resale market and their used prices start to come down, there really wont be much incentive for me to buy a Termi

i would invest in the 5.0. if its too much, id sit on it i were you

If you don't have the money yet for a 2011, keep your current car and continue saving up for it. I mean I love the terminators, but the 2011 is a better car in every category (except it isn't as exclusive/collectible as a Cobra which doesn't matter much if you mod it anyways). I'd take a 2011 GT any day over a Termi (unless it was '04 Sleeper's car )

A brand new $20K Cobra? They were $35K in '03.

I'm not really debating between a cobra and a 5.0 right now, pretty much ruled out the 5.0. It's just going to be a sunny day car so I can't spend 35 grand on a new car to play in. The Cobra will be paid for in cash, not raced, and kept for a few years until I bought a 5.0.

You ain't lyin. There's one on autrader.com right now that's hilarious. the guy opens by saying how he's "babied" the car, then in the same breath says it has drag radials on it, and lists the extensive go fast mods.

I'd go for the 2011 GT. That new platform is incredible.

Well, if its going to be paid off, then, i'd just wait to find a clean cobra. They're around...just hidden. Just be patient until u find the "one."
