That is total bull****. My paint is warrentied for life! Any orange peel, drips/runs in the paint. I also did a lot of calling around before i let anyone touch my car. I also bugged the **** out of them. I was up there everyother day making sure they prepped everything and did everything correctly.

I started laughing and the guy just kept on going. I said, why did my old paint stay on just fine, and he said I must have had some special glue in the paint for race cars or something. I told him is was the original paint and he just shook his head and said, "Ford, I don't know how they do it". I was just speachless.

I would then proceed to pull my pants down and leave a steamy coil in the middle of the shop. in rebuddle to that statement.

As a painter and bodyman they are definetly giving you the shaft. First of all a one year warrenty is crap anyways. When I worked at a PPG shop it was lifetime warrenty on the PPG paint line. If its don properly it will last for a very long time. They didn't prep the vehicle good and it shows. You can probably peel the clear off with a razor blade to show them how un adhiered it is. You will definetly need to have a lawyer send a letter. I had the same issue with a persons dog attacting me and the letter made them pay up immedietly. Its really just a letter that says we are going to sue so pay up and avoid all the legal crap. I would not take any less $$$ than you paid period. They didnt do their job so you get your $$ back period. I have painted several race cars for people and when done properly there should be no issues.

I just got off the phone with the guy. He said he'd guaranty a new paint job if I took the SC off and put stock heads and intake back on. Otherwise I'm SOL.

It really sucks when you have to pick paint chips out of your teeth when you get done driving a few hard miles. My interior looks like crap too as it's full of red flakes. I'm pizzed.

There is no way I'm going to take all my goodies off my car just to try and get the paint to stick

The guy said that becasue I don't have a 12 point cage the car isn't rigid enough to hold the paint under flex.

Well maybe if you had titanium body panels, a carbon fiber head liner, and diamond plated tires....

And just when I thought the stupidity had reached it's summit!

Someone forgot to tell my painter that nonsense about the torque limits, because my '68 has no roll cage (not even subframes), puts out well over 350 ft lbs and lo and behold, the paint is still there! It's a Miracle!!!

Haven't you guys noticed all of the cars at the track with the same problem, paint falling off under acceleration? No? Oh, well they must have the "High-Torque Paint (applied with a flux-capacitor of course)!!"

What a joke! Sue his butt for damages and lawyers fees.

On a semi-serious note, do you have the guarantee in writing? Does it say anything at all about "torque limits"?

Also, you might want a refund instead of a fix and take it somewhere else. If they fix it they might not put that much effort into it now.
