A couple of months ago I noticed just randomly i try to start my car nothing cranks over everything else will turn on though the fuel pump etc.
now i cant get it to turn on at all i get power to everything but it will not crank.

could a bad ignition switch do this? i chked my starter solenoid and it gets spark because i tested it with a screw driver i dont have my voltmeter to chk the ignition coil but i dont think thats it. It feels like the netural isnt being toggled to turn it on im assuming the ignition switch is bad but if that were the case wouldnt i not be getting any other to the other systems?

If it won't crank, the coil is not the issue.

You're on the right track. The crank signal goes from the ignition switch to the safely switch and to the solenoid. From there, the battery cable terminal connects to the starter cable.

I'd want to ensure the battery is good, all battery connections are good and that the motor grounds are up to par.

Good luck.

could be a bad connection on the battery term....My ground on the battery would do the same thing and I would have to get out and give it a little turn once in a while when it did this...till I fixord it

Definitly check the battery! I was having a problem with mine looseing a charge, and come to find out it was the battery. I was getting ok readings with a volt meter but after putting the battery on a load tester itself i found out my battery was garbage! Take it out and have the car store do a load test on the battery. I'm not shure if your starter is the same as mine but i have a 2 wire set up and one was bad when i got the car thats why mine wounldnt start then? peace

yea seems like a bad ground or something around here thats causing the problem difficult to chk the starter ground though but ill do that also the ground for the battery is good im hoping its something simple like the ignition switch.

A jumper cable from the engine to the frame rail makes for a nice temporary engine ground (for diagnostics).

You can do the same thing with a jumper cable for the positive and negative battery cables as well.

Good luck.
