did you notice any vibrations in the steering wheel after the install? from about idle to 1500, it has a slight vibration, then disappears afterwards.

also, is the starter going to be okay? the tubes are less than 1 cm from the starter. its non ceramic, but I put on about 4 layers of VHT 1500* ceramic paint to help insulate the heat.

I've never had a problem with the steering. Do you know if they/you undid the steering knuckle to get the tubes in? If so it may be lose or the tubes may be interfering with it. You wont have any problems with the starter. My Mac LT's practically rub my starter and I've never had problems with it yet and they've been on for almost 2 years.

?? Starter in 4.6 is pain regardless of LT or shorty

Stangless, is your steering shaft making contact with header by any chance? Many people had little rubbing with shaft and headers, which would surely cause vibration

I had to disconnect the steering shaft from the bottom part. I'm pretty sure I snapped it back in well.

this is for bassani headers, so its inbetween the tubes, and it may be hitting. ill check tomorrow morning, I just got home, and hot pipes suck.

if it is rubbing, is there any serious damage being caused? any rubber rings going to melt, and cause me to have steering failure or anything like that?

my mac lt's used to rub on my steering column in my 91 lx vert and it never caused any other problems, just a little annoying !

true. But i can now take off A-arm in less time then it takes me to locate 3rd bolt blindly

i had that problem after my kooks went in. they had to adjust my entire steering rack

I think my passenger side header is hitting the a-arm. When I hit a bump it makes a clanking sound.

its not rubbing, but it is very close.

I kept the kmember stock because this is my DD. been hearing things on how they don't absorb an impact very well. not to mention shipping that monster to hawaii would probably cost more than the unit itself.

aren't kooks designed for each car? how did the end up hitting your steering rack? adjusting the whole thing going to cost a lot of money which I don't have

I can feel a tiny, tiny vibration whenever Im going around a right hand turn or curve in the road. Im assuming thats the steering shaft slightly touching the primary tubes.

I very strongly recomend that anyone who goes with LT's also wraps the starter with some Thermo Tec exhaust wrap. I know people get away without it, but it cant hurt. I have it on my starter and have had zero problems...

I didn't get any vibrations other than the normal stuff. My starter has been fine since the install, but they can definately go bad with LT's in the mix.

Me neither, no vibration at all. I dont think my BBKs are very close to the starter, but its been a little while.

6 months after I installed the headers I was under the car trying to replace the starter... VERY not fun. Getting it off was not too bad, but putting it up with a heatshield was a real pain. In fact I couldnt get the "hidden" bolt back in, so to this day I only have 2 bolts in the starter...

To make a long story short, make some sort of heatshield for your starter!

ha heatsoak is chevy probrem I thought?
my LT is coated. Don't really make that much of heat. I haven't had any issue with heat soak
