1. Sleeker, smaller Mustang in the works? said to be a european version or euro style.
2. Return of the GT or a new Breed of Snake(Shelby MotoCo.) or something entirely different with GT name plate.

Been reading some articles that Ford Head Execs have been hinting but not Blatently stating there is something in the works for 2015. The media has come to speculation that the result of the SVT team being really quiet will become big news for the 2015 model year, since ford has Triumphed in sales over GM. And with the Dodge Viper bieng a no show everyone is in belief that there is somehting brewing.

I am personally getting antsy over what could and might happen.

I'm thinking the 2014 Stang will be the one to buy. The 2015 will look hot when it comes out, but it will quickly get dated as the car gets refreshed throughout it's body style.

IMO it's usually best to get the last year of a body style, since it's usually the best of the run, and it will still look great in the following years against the newer body style, while the earliest years of the new body style look dated.

I'd have to agree with you almost puma, because some of the older mustangs (sn95) don't look good, but my wifes 04 looks just as good as my 12 to me

2015 will see a completely new Mustang with IRS, Ford says the retro look will not be part of the design but I assume some hinting of classic will still be in the design. Possible the 5.0 will have GDI to increase efficiency being the injector ports are already engineered into the cylinder heads.

Ford said it will be lighter and smaller, not retro but it will have traditional Mustang styling cues, I guess things like the long hood, short trunk, 3 segment tail lamps will still be there. I hope it doesn't suck.

From a performance standpoint I know it won't. I have no doubt that it will exceed the current cars in every category. It is the styling "that appeals to the masses around the globe" thing that worries me. Hopefully I am worried about nothing.

New platform will save a little bit of weight. New, non retro body style---some will love it, some will hate it. IRS will be included. Drag racers will howl, but most people won't notice. 5.0L engine will be direct injected. An ecoboost engine will be somewhere in the lineup, either a 4 replacing or sliding in under the NA V6, or an ecoboost 6 sliding inbetween the base V6 and V8.

I wouldn't worry too much. A lot of the European Fords from the last several years have been better looking than their American counterparts sold here.

I have to believe they'll finally go IRS, but I won't be that surprised if they don't. The Boss achieved more than they thought it could, even with the LRA. We'll see.

I think there will be an Ecoboost four, too. An Ecoboost six would be amazing.

Since the Boss has already accomplished a lot with a live rear axle. and people give mustangs crap for using "dinosaur" technology. Ford could use IRS and just kick everyones ass with superior handling and power to weight ratio. then everyone would get butthurt. Im willing to see that.

I have to disagree with this. My dream come true would be the 2013, with the body style of my '06. For me it's my favorite body style since the '69 Fastback. I just don't like some of the styling differences between them, like I prefer the round old school looking headlights of mine compared to the newer ones.

So many different styles of Mustang. done right yes theyre sexy. My favorite mustang happens to be one of the quote "rarest" due to it being built for what 6 months.

68 GT California Special. what do I have now. A 2008 GT California special. what can I do to make it better. Classic Styling!!.

I don't necessarily think that moving away from the "classic styling" is a bad thing. After all....the most popular Mustang ever built was the “black sheep of the family” Fox body. Not only did it last 15-years basically unchanged, but it boasted none of the classic cues of the models before, or after it. It just makes me nervous when I hear "European styling". There have been a lot of really nice cars designed across the pond, but there have been a lot of really not so nice ones built either. And I’ve never looked at any of them and said....man, I wish the Mustang looked like that. I just hope they don’t go too drastic with the changes, to the point that it doesn’t resemble a Mustang of any sort at all.

European styling to me means Audi, BMW etc. all fine cars but never mistaken for a "muscle" car. My wife's Audi is a very fine car but will never be mistaken for an American muscle car. I can see it now, led lights everywhere, unremarkable styling, I sure hope I am wrong, and I don't want it looking like a super car either,

There was something about that commercial when the new GT500 came out a few years ago with it ripping down the autobahn, boy I want to do that

What I have read didn't say that it would have "European" styling, but that it would have a styled to have a broader appeal, while retaining classic Mustang styling cues. I'm also pretty sure that I read that Ford of Australia had some input on the design. I don't know what all that means or if it is good or bad.
As far as IRS I am certain that Ford has said that the next gen Mustang will have it. Ford is in a no win situation with that one. No matter which way they go they are gonna make some one unhappy. Personally I think that IRS should be standard and a solid rear should be offered as an option to appeal to Drag Racers. Maybe they can sell it as a Drag Pack option: Solid rear, steeper gears, launch control, drag radials etc, etc. It will probably never happen though.

I hope they keep the same exterior theme. I mean, I love the bulge above the rear wheel and on the hood. However, I'd like to see the rest get smaller. The Mustang is more a muscle car than a sports car, so I'd like to see the body (mainly the rear end) get smaller. I'd compromise with just not having such a low rear bumper. Same Big Engine! Even smaller body. I wouldn't mind seeing less fake scoops too. Maybe only optioning FUNCTIONAL scoops? The only thing I like about the '13 hood is that the vents are functional.
