ya i was thinking about going with 3.73 but then i was not sure gears or cold air haha. ya i want to do my exhaust but its going to be a little wile its going to be like 1300
Gears are the biggest bang for your buck mod there is for these cars, period. Exhaust is a nice piece as well as a short throw shifter, but gears is the best thing you can do if you haven't yet. I think everyone has said that already and if you haven't driven a higher geared mustang well, you won't understand.
Gears arn't too cheap if you don't do the install yourself. I went ahead and let someone else install mine as getting everything set up in the proper place. It will be cheaper than exhaust. 3.73's are good, I have them and I like em. I would say it depends how much you drive the car is what ratio I would put in yours.
i want to do 4.10 but i dd it and every month or 2 i go to the take 3 hr drive it would be a hole tank ya some1 told me they could do 3.73 with install for like 210$
There is a BIG difference between 3.73s and 4.10's. 4.10s make highway driving really ****ty. 3.73's can be lived with everyday.

You call 200rpm a "BIG difference"? The difference between 4.10's and 3.73's @ 60-70mph is around 200rpm, any ratio calculator will tell you this. Is there a difference? Yes. However, when it comes to fuel mileage, 200rpm is not that big a difference.
Like I said, I get about 21mpg highway with 4.10's AND a 4-spd auto. Im interested to hear what your mpg's between the two were and how you drove the car as such.
I did a before and after test with my gears.
3.27 gears - 18mpg town
4.10 gears - 20mpg town
3.27 gears - 25mpg hwy
4.10 gears - 24mpg hwy.
I love my 4.10's. Every mustang that I get in the future that is not turbo'd, will have atleast a 4.10 gear. If it's a 4v, 4.30's. Don't fear the gear.
Well if a person is serious about racing the car, they are not going to run on stock 25" tires. I run my car on 26" slicks, and at 6,200 RPM, my car is trapping 118mph. I know that one for a fact.
As the car gets faster, ie cams, intake, ported heads, ect. The shift points will be going up, and how high I let the car rev will also be going up. So my mph capabilities will also go up.
