I have a 2003 GT stick and it has noticable throttle lag. It is most noticable in neutral. You hit the gas and there is hesitation. It is there when driving as well. The car has 8K miles on it and can be a bit annoying.
make sure your throttle body cable doesn't have too much slack. also adjust the screw on the t/b to hold the butterfly open a little more and see if that helps.
You are still under warranty, your problem could be with a faulty or dirty MAF sensor. Your concern is common to late model Fords The problem is often traced to the MAF.
on the throttle body, near the cable linkage, there is a screw that is used as a bump stop to prevent the t/b from completely closing. lucky for you, i just happen to have my old t/b laying around. see pic. just adjust that screw to push to the left more.
I wouldnt touch that screw. If you open your throttle body butterfly too much, the IAC will have to correct the idle. It will burn out her IAC a lot quicker.
