After I had my X pipe installed, a few months after my engine light came on. I knew it was the exhaust, even with the high flow cats, that was the cause. So no biggie there. It was giving me P0153. For Christmas I got a JLT 2 intake and an Xcal 2, installed that, now I am getting another code, P0133.

P0133 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0153 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

Is this anything I should be concerned about? I am brand new to the whole tuning field, so when you talk to me, pretend I am in kindergarten. I can however change my own diaper.

Thanks for the reply, I think I may just try clearing the codes tomorrow and seeing if they pop back up...Maybe one of the sensors is just not adjusting to the 93 octane?

O2 sensors do not adjust to fuel. They simply measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust compared to ambient air. They do not measure fuel. Slow repsonse codes usually set in vehicles with old/tired oxygen sensors. Since your car is relatively new, I would start looking at your PCM calibration.

These cars use the CAN protocol not ODBII and I'm sure a lot of stuff was rushed to market. Contact the companies that sold you the parts. The codes came after you put on the aftermarket stuff right.

While CAN is a protocol our cars operate on OBDII.

BTW, google is your friend...

A code P0133 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

* The oxygen sensor is faulty
* The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
* There is an exhaust leak

Those codes are thrown a lot if the 02 sensors are thown further downstream, like on a long tube header car. There are changes to your program that can fix the issue. It's due to the time it takes for the exhaust to reach the 02 sensor. The code is normally thrown before the car warms up.

Thanks for the responses guys.

It never really occured to me to look up the code. I checked the OBDII website, but just took their definition at face value.
I cleared the codes yesterday, and they have not popped back up so far. Guess I will see in a day or so. Could this be something that could be fixed with a custom tune?

for those mods that you listed you should have already had a tune written specific for your vehicle.

When I got my intake, I just loaded the tune that came with it. I had considered sending my tuner to Brent and having his tunes loaded, but was not sure if his tunes would be worth the extra money invested. Unless of course that would stop the engine light from coming on. Which, by the way, came back on last night..
