Has anyone ever had there timing slip?

How could this possibly happen? :SNSign:

I've had a loose distributor slip and take the timing with it... It's also possible for the outer ring of your harmonic balancer to slip, changing the indicated timing.

You could also jump a tooth on your timing chain...

Where does the tick tick boom come into this?

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but yes it is possible for the timing to slip. All of the ways JChalfan mentioned could change your timing or at least make it look like the timing changed.
