I recently changed my plugs, just noticed today a slight ticking in the engine.
Could this be because of the plugs? I know they are supposed to be torqued to certain specs, but I have no torque wrench. I just tightened them down firmly, but not too tight. What do you think? The noise follows the RPMs of the engine, and is happening at all times, not just when the engine is cold or at startup. Any help is appreciated.

If you aren't already running 93 octane, I would try a tank to see if that fixes it.

Well, it isn't actually knocking as in detonation, it sounds more like a lifter ticking.

Anyone???
I also noticed today that I only hear it from behind the engine ( ie. in the driver seat w/ the windows down ). I don't hear it when I open the hood and listen. Could it be an exhaust leak? I think I remeber hearing that it can make a ticking noise, but I am not sure. Any help is appreciated.

It could possibly be the new plugs, the only reason I say that is my 5.0 does the same thing even after I tore down the top end and found nothing wrong.
