Engine Ticking/Squealing Noise

So over the past day or two, I've had a weird ticking noise coming from the distributor/water pump area. Its gotten to be more of squeal now, especially at higher rpms. I mean, its loud. I can easily hear it driving around over top of the exhaust and music... and its getting worse. I'm thinking its the water pump but I'd like to get another opinion. Or am I about to blow a rod? LOL. BTW, not getting any fluid out of the weep hole. There is some leaking around the bottom part of the gasket. Cars also been getting pretty hot the past few months. Heres a few videos of the sound.

How it originally started out...

Welp. Its not the water pump. Still doing it with a new one on there. Seems to be coming from the left front of the engine. Developed into a new kinda sound and its gotten extremely loud. Completely random though. Sometimes it'll be quiet, other it'll get bad. The smog pump does make a ticking sound when spun by hand. Could that be the culprit? Heres another video.

Thanks again!

Gonna sound crazy but snatch the smog pump off. Take a drill and adapt whatever you need to to spin the pulley fast. I make all kinds of gadgets so that's just what I would do. OR....cut you a section of small tubing. Stick one end in your ear and use the other like a stethoscope to find the noise. Second option is the easiest.

Yeah, I tried using the hose method. Couldn't hear anything other than the ticking. I wound up getting a shorter belt to bypass the smog pump just for the hell of it. Turns out, thats what it was. Thanks for the help!
