Both of my outer tierod ends are shot and I'm going to replace them. My question is if I should stick with the OEM units or upgrade to an aftermarket peice such as MM end. On my car I'm really not sure if it would be worth the upgrade since it's so lightly modified. Also I'm a little concerned how a aftermarket tierod end would hold up on a daily driver that is exposed to rain, salt, and snow. If you have any insight or suggestions please chime in.

OEM + Energy Suspension boots
They are only $3.95 at Summit (Part number ENS-9-13101R)
They slide right over the OEM boot and make the Rods last much longer.

My OEMs have lasted 98k miles, so I dont think durability isnt an issue. Going aftermarket and upgrading to a bumpsteer kit wouldnt be such a bad idea though.

I just did mm bolt through kit...very high quality, would recommend the tapered stud kit to anybody looking for a nice durable OEM replacement.

i woudl normally suggest doign that as for me its at most 15 minutes a side. but unless you have the proper tools it will take a LOT longer.

with a tie rod end tool it takes about 10 min per side. without the tool it will be at least a 30 min job. i have used a pipe wrench to remove inners before but i would not recomend it. the proper tool will run about $90 from any tool truck.

ya i have the MATCO one. actually on mustangs its easier to just put in a new rack than to mess with the inners.
