The mistake on the lake (Ohio)

Ok, i wanna try something new. I have collector's plates so too loud means nothing to me and cops can't do anything about it no E-check required either, The offroad H that i put on there quiets it down some from the true duals i used to have, combo in sig. And no its not a daily driver. Use you imagination and help me out.

What i've had:

spintech prostreets- too raspy, flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber- too quiet, flowmaster one chamber race mufflers- a little louder

Sound im after:

Want something really throaty and loud, like right on the verge of open pipes but without the sheer loudness, i have electric cutouts for track use and they are just too loud to keep open all the time. All mufflers that i use have dumps on them, no tails.

Thinking about:

Dynomax race bullets, or somehting along those lines that will let the big block breathe and be just plain nasty sounding.

Both of the cars below run the race bullets this is why im thinking about them.

The sound im after, also a big block stang:
http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=83738C20-F092-4E1B-A132-725487857CDA

or this one, blown 95 stang about 800 rwhp:

Thanks.

of all the stuff I've done to mine, it was the heads that made the biggest difference in the sound of the car. I'm assuming those heads are '68 castings? I'd get some aluminum heads and put them on and get ready to rock and roll

The heads are very worked over, heavy porting and big valves, they can support about 700hp im told, so the heads are good. But yeah aluminum heads are in the future when the blower goes on

Of course since I just got the bullets on a few days ago it might be a biast comment but i would go with bullets I did and couldnt imagine how disapointed I would have been if I didnt. I have them on my stock 5.0 with a Bcam and it is the DEEPEST sound ive ever heard. With the cam every time it lopes back up it has like a poping sound, it has an amazing tone, and when you hit it, all hell breaks lose, it literally hits with a bang and just keeps getting louder from there, really has the tone of a nascar. It is advertised to be 2-4DB quieter then straight pipes and has tone, seems to be just what your looking for, since its not a daily driver drone wont bother you, mine is a daily driver and ive already gotten used to it. And of course there just about the best flowing mufflers, I noticed my car revving alot faster from the flowmasters. Heres some videos of mine, be on the look out in the next few days for some more videos me and my buddy are going to make some good ones when we have time.

eh imo magnaflow is very quiet at idle, and are very loud and deep at WOT, Bullets are a race muffler, very loud and deep at idle and explode at WOT

Either way his big block is going to make any muffler sound like the best muffler out there, but I think he wants more of a beastly race sound then a signature sound.

I think im gonna give them a try, every car that i've heard with them that has some work done to it sounds just plain wicked. Hopefully they sound good on my car. the 10 series race mufflers on there now are actually kinda quiet, and i had them on the 5.0 with side pipes and i remember them being waaaay louder, IDK whats quieting them down so much.

Yea thats weird, but you can be sure with the straight though design nothing will be holding them back. What size is your exhaust? You can run 3" right? I heard with 3" the sound is AMAZING, i got the 2.5" inlet and 12" muffler from summit for 77 for both up them shipped, thats another reason i got them was because they were so cheap.

im also considering the outlaw flows, but the price for one is two of the race bullets, however, you get what you pay for. I wonder if the flows "flow" good, i know somebody has them on their car, cmon gimme some sound clips of those outlaw series.

my car got louder when i cut off my dumps. i cut the whole outlet pipe off and its coming out of what i guess you could call a hole in the back of the muffler. you should give it a try before you buy new muffs just for chits and giggles

Yeah its either gonna be bullets or the outlaw flows because they both flow so well, the flows only have 3 rings inside of it to deaden the sound so i've heard, i wonder how they sound i know someone on here said they had them.

Oh and im not a fan of SLP on mustangs.
