Alrght so I was finally awarded my last insurance settlement from the car accident I had about 2 years ago (took them long enough). However, I'm pretty deadlocked on what route I want to take.....

Option 1:
-MHS or HiTech stg. 2 cams
-MHS reground/clearanced valves
-MHS 600 lift stg. 2 springs

Option 2:
-shocks/struts
-LCA's
-complete bushing upgrade
-TB/plenum
-UDP's
-slotted/drilled rotors w/ SS lines

Help me out.

What about the install cost? How much money are we playing with here?

Tough call, how many miles on the car and how bad is the suspension? I know you already have the H&R's so I would go that route to finish that off. I think the next round of mods for me personally will be cams and the lca's with bigger meats in the rear. I'm getting a bonus check and my unused pto hours at time and a half so I will have good money for that in April. I still say suspension but cams are nice. What's the end goals for the car idk if I have seen you say that yet.

Cams AND lower control arms....you wont hook without them if you get cams....just don't forget to factor in the cost of a tune to go along with the cams

Install cost isn't a problem. The guy who helps me with all my installs is a close family friend and is always negotiable with price and payment

Im getting around $3500 but only want to play with around $2k.

Yea I have that in mind. If worst comes to worst I'll just go a little while without a tune.

I've got 75K on it right now. It rides rougher than I would like which is why I want to overhaul the suspension......but the lure of bumpsticks is soooo enticing lol

I think that I've talked to you before about your HiTechs but Im drawing a blank......

What went into your install (springs, valves, degreeing, etc)? Are/have you having/had any issues with them such as PTV? Was there any big difference through the midrange?

Im debating between the HiTech 2's and MHS stg 2P's

Say it with me, blower.........blower...............blower

You can piece a centri kit for close to 2, and it will definitely beat cams any day of the week.

Is that in relation to cams or just in general?

BTW, briefly looking at TC's......DAMN they're expensive. Is it really worth it?

I ran hitechs for a bit without springs and had no issues with ptv...I now have new valve train to back it up because I rev to 6,8000 and I don't trust stock springs after 6,500... one thing to consider is hitechs don't lope crazy but they make excellent power...mhs lopes nice and make power so if you want a cam that's powerful and noticeable go with mhs....

Ill post bids in a bit on how mine sound....it took me a bit to work out getting in to lope like a stage 2 cam should lope

And fwiw I went 700 miles cammed and without a tune and was perfectly fine..... BUT I never took it over 3 k

Night SHIFTER you rev to 6800rpm? What kind of heads are you running?

I've been running my hitechs for about 7500 miles on stock springs without any problems. They are degreed. In retrospect I wish I would have upgraded my springs and got my valves ground down- now it will have to be a future project. (I haven't had any problems though). The hitechs have a very mild lope but a plus is my CAI makes significantly more of an air sucking sound.... everyone thinks my mustang is blown.

I'm happy with my hitechs but like with every mod eventually you want more- getting a blower is always the right answer.... I wish I would have used the money towards a blower instead. Also with the UDP... I wish I didn't get them- I noticed SOP gains but if/when I get a blower I will either have to swap them out or do pulley math to get it right / be concerned because water pump etc. is spinning 25% slower.

To answer your original question I would like other people have said do a mix if install costs are not a big problem-
Option 3:
-shocks/struts
-Steeda bumpsteer kit
-Alignment to MM specs
-Hitech stage 2's (if staying NA)(degreed with springs and ground valves)or MHS stage 2 cams (blower cams now are not a bad idea for future planning)
-24lb or greater injectors (blower in the future?... 39/42's) (another failure to look forward on my part)

I would finish up the suspension.... Don't mean to steal the thread but how much faster is your Evo 10 in a straight line compared to your full bolt on, cam, heads 2v? I Raced my buddies from work from a 3rd gear roll at 3krpm and surprisingly he only pulled about a fender. I don't think he can drive lol.

In a straight line they're about equal because I don't have rear lower control arms on the mustang so it just spins through 1st... from a roll id be maybe a car length ahead....cornering the evo would stomp my mustang hands down...

The thin about the evo is it comes built with a 2 step rev limiter to get it out of the hole like a rocket...so if im staged and I let the clutch out just a tad and it activates the 2 step and holds the rev limiter at 5k...then all I do is slip the clutch and it launches like a rocket...

The mustang should be faster in a straight line than the evo but I havnt been able to test it yet...the gearing in the evo is crazy tight though so in 5th im rolling about 3k and starttin to get into boost and if I nail it it pulls like the mustang pulls in 2nd... I know this cause some guy in an srt8 challenger was trying g to mess with me and I walked him in 5th gear

After a few goodies from ams get here then the evo will be faster in a straight line than the mustang

A converter is 100% worth it. I would put a bigger converter in before I did cams. If you have an automatic and are looking to put aftermarket cams in it, then you are going to need a bigger stall.
