I replace my cam for a different one,I have a felpro one piece oil pan gasket.do I need to cut the end off it have the metal in the gasket? If I do how u guys cut it with? Thanks
I had to pull my timing chain cover a few times with the same gasket and I didn't cut it. i just worked it on and havent had any leaks. It was a pain though
I had nothing but problems when I cut my gasket. They will have you replace the gasket with two cork pieces if I remember correctly. Sounds like you just replaced the oil pan gasket. To be honest a little RTV in that area of the pan and you should be fine. The gasket you have will still work, assuming the oil pan gasket is a newer one.
I justed a dremel (sp?) when I cut my gasket. IF you are going to cut the metal gasket, to replace the corners with those stupid cork pieces, IMO I wouldn't do it. My car leaked still, after I added those. I wish I hadn't cut my metal oil pan gasket.
