timing question

i have been dealing with this surging idle problem for awhile now. today i put in 24lb injectors and a new distibutor. set the timing and fuel pressure. the car ran great i was very happy. untill i reached in my pocket and pulled out my spout connector. the car runs great without it. but if i plug it in it surges. any ideas? where should i start.

i think a few others have done the same thing (run locked in timing). answers i dont have for you though. but you are not alone.

IF you set the timing without the spout, It can run fine at WOT, but your drivability will suffer. My car surges a bit once I reinstall the spout after timing, but my car is far from stock.

Your sig says 19 lb injectors with a ProM maf; you say you installed 24 lb injectors. Did you have the maf recalibrated to work with the larger injectors?

yes brandnew pro-m 24lb. i better change that
