timing

I am running a 289 with AC and auto trans, what should my timming be set at? Also what marks should i be looking for on the pully, what numbers? Thanks.

the only numbers I see are 1.0 2.0 and 3.0, whats up with that?

With modern gasoline, just advance the timing until the valves "ping" and then retard it slightly. Not terribly scientific but, if it makes the engine "happy", who cares? BTW, it will probably be about 10-12 degrees initial advance.

those #s are most likely 10, 20, and 30* timing marks. They can be tough to read sometimes, esp if the damper is rusty or greasy. Its a good idea to mark 0, 10, and 20 with hi-vis paint for future reference.
