Tinted tails question

So since I finally got my car back up and running I've been taking care of all the little things that need attention, one of which was the tails.

Now, after tinting them I noticed some bubbling (crappy prep...oh well I'll fix it later) I noticed that my passenger side tail is showing light through the red painted section of the lens....how the $&^# do I fix it?!

Repaint the lens. It probably ate through the paint.

the factory lights are a one piece red lens. they just paint the bezels and call it a day. You'll have to have the bezels repainted to cover up the light.

And after recoating them with more color, hit the whole light with clear. Then wet sand them.

They'll look great.

Thanks everyone...after looking a lil closer at it it seems like theres close to NO paint left on it. Now to find a red that's SOMEWHAT close to Vibrant Red.

Lights on during the day is kinda pointless but they still light up good. Gonna start shopping around for some LED's for 'em though.

Does your county require a state safety inspection for plate renewal?

Just something to think about.......Here in the past couple years many have tinted their tailights, especially on the '99-04's. Recently though many are selling them or looking to borrow untinted stock ones so it will pass the state safety inspection, because they won't.

Nope...thankfully no safety inspections or smog.

That's quite a cool color contrast. Though IMO I think black tails with red lenses is a bit better, especially if it's a pair of Saleen bezels.
