My guess is you will have no problems with the new tint. I tinted mine when new and the window drop didn't hurt anything. Besides, if you did disable the drop somehow then you wouldn't be able to open the door!

You gotta be real careful with that. If you're not careful that'll really effem up. Seems to me like Sajeffc probably just got lucky I would ask whoever is doing your tint about the issue/dealer even if you're not using them.

He should be fine if he has a decent installer. I work at a Ford dealership and we tint pretty much every Mustang we sell and never have a problem. Most tint installers leave a small gap (1/8 ") or so around the top edge of the window anyway. This is about all of the glass that pops up into the molding when you close the door. Get it tinted and enjoy!

you have to trick it. with the door open you you spin the lock in the door. this makes the window go up. after the tint is on, you use a heat gun and LIGHTLY heat the film at the bottom of the window. Then you just undo the lock trick, I think it was by using the open handle. hope that help

as long as he tucks it below the weather stripping at the bottom of the glass that won't give it a lip to hang up on and make the tint slide. I had no issues both times my windows were done, this too was a concern of mine at th time.

Don't be so paranoid! Your not the first mustang to have the windows tinted...3 days is just cautionary measurement, what the installers need to say... a day or so in the sunlight and it will be fine...The fluid they use to apply just needs to dry up and let the adhesive fully adhere to the glass. unless it is 30 below zero and rainy you will be fine...

i had mine done and no problems it was my DD and opening and closing the door will be ok. Just don't go putting it up and down all the way, it may cause it to slide around.

The installer that did my tint tripped a switch in the door lock area which put the windows back up when the door was open. He left a very small gap from the edge of the window with the tint.

After the install he flipped the switch and the window dropped back down....and shut the door.

One thing I noticed (as do many others)...are the fine scratches that show up on the tint after you roll the window up/down. My car is a 2007 and in 2008 they changed the window trip part # and material. They now use felt on both the inside and outside window trim.

After my tint was already installed, I ordered these new window trim parts and installed them, hoping it would stop the scratching.

While my tint is "scratched," they are VERY fine scratches and did not go "through" the tint. You can't see them from the outside of the car and only at certain angles on the inside.

Prolly more info than you needed....LOL.

I've had my windows tinted for quite some time now and whenever I roll them down they squeek. It's not that bad just really damn annoying. I've tried lubricating them and cleaning out the inside of the window but nothing seems to work!

I just had mine tinted and there were no issues with the auto drop on the windows. My installer actually used a torch (yes, a torch) on certain parts of the window, lightly passing over the area. He said the heat promotes fast adhesion. Sure enough, no issues whatsoever with my windows, no empty spaces either. As long as you got a good installer, you got nothing to worry about.

Ditto on the heat gun. I've never heard of using a torch, but all they need to do is seal the edges and you're good to go. Just don't roll them down for 3 days.
