After tinting my 05 GT, I noticed that the tint, on the door windows only, is scratched. Has this happen to anyone and if so was it a problem with the installation of the tint or something wrong inside the doors that Ford needs to fix?

It's a very common problem. It's the doors. Do a search on it and you'll find a bunch of threads I'm sure.

yep, it's a VERY common problem. I read about it a dozen times on here and I knew the potential of the problem but I thought I'd try it anyway....

well it took about 3 weeks for my scratches to show up.

Everybody seems to blame the rubber doorbelt strip, but I think it's something further down in the doors in the tracks.

i have had tint on the windows for several months now. no problems here. many have installed moleskin on the weatherstrips. search for tint, there is a good thread where someone bought something at walmart for about $3 that worked.

Yes it was me from Walmart. Felt weather stripping (from household area) is cheap and more durable and larger in quantity than mole skin.
