I have had BFG KDWS on the car for my last two sets of tires, they worked great for all season driving. Now that I am supercharged and only drive the car from April-October, I am looking for a better dry weather tire. The car also sees a little bit of rain. Right now I am looking at the BF Goodrich KDW and the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval. Does anybody have experience with these? Also, is there a tire I may have overlooked that has characteristics similar to these two? Looking for some decent first gear bite on the street, without going to a DR, while maintaining the cars handling properties at highway speeds.

Thanks,

Tom

I have the KDW tires on my car, they're definitely a solid performer for the money. Wet traction is good, smooth ride on the highway, and pretty good grip. just don't forget I have half the power you do. Another good one to look at are the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s and Michelin Pilot Sports (both are pretty expensive)

I went from kdws to the kdw and I can honestly say they grip and corner much better then the kdws. And they still work well in the rain

I have had only the KDWs on my car, and for the price they are a really
good tire. Right now im running Sumos HRT Z. Not a bad tire but defiantly wont do you any good. If money is not a problem I say go with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s. An excellant tire from what I hear.

The Goodyear GS-D3s are a little pricey (@$192 a tire at tirerack) for what I want to spend. Looks like they would hook though! Looking to spend about $600-$700 a set mounted and balanced. BFG KDW are in the lead right now...

Thanks again,

Tom
