I'm getting the Deep dish bullitt rims on my car, and I'm shopping around for tires.

I'm hoping that a 255x40x17 front and 285x40x17 rear will fit and look good, does anyone know if that is too skinny? I'm very aware that you can fit up to 315 on this wheel, but I'm not looking to further reduce the cars ability to drive in the rain...

Anyway, as far as the brand is concerned, I'm pretty sure I'm going with the following set:

Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 (Ultra High Performance Summer)
Specs | Warranty | Reviews | Test Results | Survey Results
Sidewall Style: Blackwall

Size:285/40-17
WR Speed Rated Price: $113
Estimated Availability: In Stock

..

I have a question though... would there be any real disadvantage in getting the cheaper 255 front Kumhos.... I'm under the belief they will just handle a little worse, which doesn't bother me.

THANKS guys.... =)

Just for better handling? $50 is actually a big difference to me in the price, and I really don't need these things to handle well this is just a daily driver.

I'm also looking into tires. My front left tires is showing some white on the outer part of the tire

I want to keep the tire price down as much as possible. Here is my dilemma. I want to get 17x8 front 17x10.5 rear cobra R polished rims.

What tires should i go with? A friend of mine has the khumo ecsta 711's and he has not been very impressed with their dry traction. Is the 712's better traction or just improved handling? Id like to think i'll gain some traction from adding 10.5'' rims and tires on the back even if i dont get nittos.

Any suggestions? I'm not looking to spend more than about 1400-1500 entire package. What are the best dry traction tires that i can get for a reason price for the 10.5's?

Those are some pretty goods prices on tires. Where are you shopping from?

Do 265/40/17 for the front.. fits the 17x9 better.. i have 265/35/18 on my 03 cobra 18x9's and there is no rim protection, just barely meets flush with the rim. Also it would be closer to stock tire diameter with 265/40/17
285/40/17 minimum for the rear (275/40/17 doesn't look good on 10.5's.. i've seen it close up.. I would check some pictures of 315/35/17 before you make that final decision for the rear.. once you buy them its at least 2 years of dealing with what you got)
My Opinion
