My passenger side tire is rubbing on the control arm.

Anyway to fix this problem???? Had the car aligned after control arm bushing / Tie Rod End / Ball Joint replacement, and apparantly it didnt take care of the problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, you could have gone with 03 FRPP control arms which increase the turning radius a bit, but since you already had all that stuff done, I'd look at installing travel limiters on the rack and pinion so it stops turning just before contact is made.

Yeah, just don't go through a turn and hit the lock. Artificial braking on one wheel sucks when you aren't expecting it.

Not going to just live with it.

Where can you get the travel limiters?

Seems odd to me that it didnt do it before changing the a-arms and ball joints. The thing is though, after the alignment I had checked it because pre-alignment the toe was WAY out on both sides, and it rubbed. Had it aligned, didnt rub. Now it rubs again.

Maybe I need new steering rack bushings?

Yeah... when the wheel is cranked all the way over.
I just dont like the idea of my control arms and tires being that friendly with each other... the control arm might get the wrong idea and decide to penetrate the tire.

I haven't seen them for awhile but I know Steeda used to carry them. They aren't on the website but if you call them they can probably hook you up.

Of course, the question really is, why is they're contact now and not before? What size tires are you running?

Thats exactly what Im wondering. The only thing that could have affected the tire height to control arm would be the ball joint. I used the Ford extended ball joint kit, similar to the Steeda X2 ball joint kit, hell probably the same thing. That would lower the control arm in relation to the wheel.

I checked it post alignment because I had the problem before the alignment, but the toe was way out. After the alignment there was a ton of space. I replaced the steering shaft, and now its rubbing again. I guess there was that much slop in the steering shaft that it rubs now with a tight shaft.

BTW... I just got the $25 stock shaft from stangparts.com. Works well... maybe to well. Im tempted to put the original back in to see what it does.
