Just wondering whats the max you can go on the stock 17'' bullit rims, 17x9, I was wondering if I could go with like 265, if that possible, and would it be 265-40-17 instead of 45-17 ?

You could put 265 but it will bulge out a little bit.

I would recommend 45R17 in the front and 40R17 in the back

Ok, so I guess that I'll stay with 245 or I'll buy a new set of rims for the wider tires.

I agree, I just bought 9" and put 275s and they look absolutely PERFECT.

Just buy two 17x10.5" bullitts and toss some 305's on them.

It would look fine. A lot of cars have staggered wheel sizes. As long as the rear is always bigger/wider it will be ok

I think the max you can go is 275s. That's what I have on mine and I think they look sweet. Gives them a thick meaty look. IMO.
Bigger rims will be coming, but until that day, 275's all the way.

1 more for the road
BTW, those are a brand called Fuzion. Somebody on here recommended them once. Price is good and i have no complaints. They also come with a "rim guard". I guess the sidewall sticks out a little to protect your rims, so they really stick out with 275's. Like I said before, meaty. I curbed my rims once. I know they are stock bullits but I was still pissed about it. Neva again.

Those Fuzions look pretty good. Where'd you get them? and how does the price compare to other brands?

I just got some OEM Bullitts from a buddy of mine real cheap and I got Fuzion Zri 245 45 17 and I think they're skinny as hell. Maybe the Fuzions run a little small and that's why the 275 fit and look good. I have been looking at other brands of 245s on other cars and mine look thin. The shop that put them on told me they don't have any problems putting 275 on an 8" rim, but I didn't want to do it.

OH, and I paid $94 for mine.

Hmmm did I miss the memo or something, since when are tires an appearance mod?

This thread must come up about once a week and the same old responses. I wish people would just take a minute to look at the specs that all the tire manufacturers took the time to publish on their websites. Look at any of them, even Nitto specify no wider than a 255 for a 17x8 inch rim. Fuzion doesn't publish a chart on their website, actually they don't publish much of anything. You can go to www.tirerack.com and see the recommended sizes. Same holds true, no wider than a 255 for a 17x8 inch rim.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Fuzion&model=ZRi

I guess if all you are after is looks than who am I to argue

Maybe I've been drinking too much because normally I wouldn't get into this stupid conversation but oh well here goes.
"Hmmm did I miss the memo or something, since when are tires an appearance mod?"
Everything I do to my car is, in one way or another, an apperance mod. I don't see you posting this crap after someone puts up a picture of thier polished KB. Why does anyone need a polished supercharger, why does one need sidescoops or any of the other non-functional stuff on the car. I'll tell you why, because that's the way I want my car to look. That's why. I like the tires. I like the fact that they look meaty and are bigger than stock. Everything I do to my car differentiates it from the billion other stock GT's I see on the road. That's what makes it my car and that's why I love it. Also, I don't think the original question was "do you think tires are an appearance mod". The question was, what is the max size tire on the stock bullit rims. I'm pretty sure I answered that question. I'm sure there is probably some good reason why Nitto said that 255's are the largest that should go on there, but I don't care. 275's fit and as far as i know, there are no reasons why I shouldn't run them. If you are talking about for the strip, then that's prolly a different story as far as tire size for speed and optimal traction. Again, not something I'm concerned about.
/Rant
hard liquor and stangnet= for me.
sorry.

oh yeah, I can't find the receipt. i think they were cheaper than the Nitto's that I wanted. I got them from Tire Kingdom.
