To buy or not to buy?

There is a 1989 Mustang lx for sale. It needs a paint job but it has no rust, no dents. Body is straight.

Needs a muffler.

When I test drove it, the transmission is slipping bad. It is also leaking radiator fluid and some transmission fluid.

They owner said he replaced some seals on the transmission. I'm thinking he didn't do a good job and thats why it is leaking thus slipping????

The convertible top is in good shape. Looks good and goes up and down with no problem.
Has a/c but not blowing cold air. The compressor is not locked up.

Brakes are good

Seats up front are torn.

they only want $600 for the car. What do you think?

I am willing to put in like 1,500 bucks to fix it. Wondering how much it will need including a 400 paint job?

Should I buy it?

I found another 1989 2.3 Mustang coupe. It needs a/c and in Florida you can't really live without it.

Whats the worst case scenario for having to replace the a/c as far as cost goes? Am I looking at 700 bucks? More? Less?
