Hey everybody,

I have the option to get my already ceramic coated SLP headers jet coated. There is a place that can do this in Wisconsin for a decent price or at least thats what i'm told. Now if i do this i have to ship them up to wisconsin or drive them, i'd probably ship them. anyways, is this even woth it? if not than i'm going to go ahead and get them installed as is.

On a side note i found a place to dyno my car. They charge $90 for two pulls. I don't know if thats a good deal or not but its the closest to my house. Now is putting my car on this dyno going to tune my car to perfection or is it just going to tell me what i'm pushing out? Because i know a couple of you stated that it would be wise to get a tune after i put the headers and x on. Tell me what to ask for and what i need to have done to my car. I'm new at this so please fill me in.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Dunno about those headers, I'd probably not worry about it. There's a difference between a dyno run and a dyno tune. A dyno run will just tell you your hp/tq numbers, and usually is optional to get A/F logged with it. A dyno tune is usually much more expensive and will involve the shop tuning your computer based on the results of the dyno runs.

If the headers are already ceramic coated there's no need to have them re-coated. Just wasting your money.

Most local Mustang or speed groups have dyno days, where you can bring your car by and pay sometimes half of what they normally charge for dyno runs.

I found this on there site:

Dyno Tune w/Diablosport Revolution Chip - $575
Dyno Tune w/o Chip - $450

Is this what i need?

I also saw this but it deals with GM vehichles:
PCM Tuning
Over 1,000 GM vehicles have been dynotuned at our facilities. We do everything from a basic tune to change a gear ratio to fine tuning a 1200HP monster with a Big Stuff 3 enginge management unit.

For what little mods you have!? CALL 911 'cause you be getting jacked bro! Plus if you ever add another mod you may have to get the chip re-burned. Your better off finding someone who will perform a custom tune that can be loaded/modified with one of the existing handheld programmers like the XCal or Predator.

Hmm, they seem like big GM guys, but 600 seems a bit steep. The place that i'll be going to (Houston Performance) charges $450 for dyno tune and chip

just get a handheld and use the tune they put in for you. you don't have that many mods and none of them are really radical mods like cams or anything like that.

then as your mods list grows you can take your handheld to a shop that tunes with that software and they can make a custom tune and upload it right into your tuner. no chip ever needed.

So i should buy a tuner and tune the car myself? or do i still have to take it to a shop and get it tuned (the tuner)after i buy the tuner? I must sound like an idiot but you see i really am an idiot
