Today when I was slipping out the clutch I heard a squeal sound. It only did it once and hasn't done it since. Question is, could it be the TOB or the POS that drove by in front of me and turned right (his belts squealing?)

It just sounded REALLY loud so that's whyI'm not sure. Not so much worried since it was just that one time but just want to know in case I hear it more

Mine is doing it with 20K on it I figure its the TOB. Its getting more regular now though . The question I have is if its will be covered under the factory warrenty or is it a "wear item" like the rest of the clutch?

was the noise when you were letting the clutch out or after it was fully engaged?

Mine squeal's alot when engaged and under normal driving conditions it actually sounds like I'm draggin a chain behind me...if I put just a bit of pressure on the pedal say for instance rest my foot on the pedal it goes away....really quite annoying...

It hasn't done it since last week when I took it to the track and I went to do a 2nd gear burnout and the ToB stuck when engaging I didn't notice it till the interior of the car started filling with smoke which stank of clutch. Since then I have to make sure when I shift that the pedal comes all the way up cause it tends to stick now at half engagement.

Just listen for it see if it happens again I wouldn't want the same thing happening to mine as it did yours I've only got 56k on my car and now the stock clutch is messed up cause it's pretty glazed.

did the car shake any? could of been your clutch/pressure plate. get it checkout if it does it again.....

GoldnGt - yours sounds like a worn out clutch quadrant.....they make funny noises when they start to wear out......

and you can lube the t/o bearing if it is squeeling.....now if it is chattering, it's probably time for another

I would say it was a clutch quad, but when you can lay under the tranny and hear it.. you know its the TOB.

I've had the throw out bearing changed out twice under warranty. My car now has about 25k miles but if I remember right it was changed at 12k and about 19k...no questions asked.

does it make noise only when pushed in? the TOB usually makes noise when the clutch is out...if yours is doing it ONLY when pushed in you need to get it looked at ASAP...just my .02 cents

Don't worry about it....if you hear it once it could have been anything...if it starts to repeat itself then you need to look into it.

The way you describe it your not even sure if it was your car
