an f3 or f4 tornado missed the plant i work at by 1 mile.

it killed 8 people nearby. i watched in horror as it formed and a debris field built. it was peoples homes and live in the vortex. it downed one of our 500KV lines and towers. it actually tripped a unit. we lost power AT THE POWER PLANT. for a few minutes only. it turned 70 ft white oak trees into 2x4's. literally. it cut the grass. very few home exist in it's path. so sorry. i estimated f3 when i saw it and the weather sevice calls it a strong f3 to f4.

so sad for their families. whole town wrecked. TVA(my employer) already has all of it's TPS assets in west TN. so sad. bad day for us. our output is 1000MW. the entire north central TN region is out until that line gets fixed. 500,000 volts. it looked like a nuke went off when it hit that line.

that sucks man, this is what i hate about spring time. I like the nice mild weather but then the crazy t storms and hail and tornados ruins it all! I live in tornado ally :(
