They have been a long tale of ups & downs. Supposedly Chris Alston was going to set things straight with them.

yeah no kidden...i ordered a rack/pinion kit 2 weeks ago...then called them a cpl days later to get the tracking info and come to find out it wasnt shipped yet because a part was out of stock...but nobody bothered to tell me that when i ordered it or even call me later on. ive called since then and they still didnt have the part in stock, it was "out getting plated and should be in tues(3/7)" so i call in the after noon on tues and no..still outta stock and should be in thur(yesterday). so i call today to see if it was sent...but no...now its sopposed to be in monday.

i know they cant help if its out of stock and has been delivered yet..but two weeks late is a lil rediculous..feels like im getting the run around.

is there any other company out there, except flaming river, that makes a good rack and pinion setup?

I have heard the same by many others but I have not had any problems with them. I order from them frequently (about 8 times a year) and have never had an issue, just minor delays. I would call them, I learned that they do not respond very well to emails. Twice I have had to send the email a second time to get a response.

Try this one, he has responded to me in a timely manner. I believe he is also a board member so he shouldn't mind and he is a TCP tech support guy.

That is my concern with buying a part like this that only one company makes. If it brakes or they go out of business what will you do?

I would still wait on the TCP unless you are in a tight bind, their product is worth it.

CA Chassisworks/TCP

Don't want to trash talk anyone, as I haven't purchased anything from TCP. But, I probably won't to be honest. I've called them twice with questions regarding various products I was VERY interested in for my 66. I got little or no answer, and the guy on the phone clearly could've cared less whether I actually bought anything or not. What should have been a 15 minute phone call, or possibly even a short bit longer to discuss the effects of changing to one of their parts, lasted maybe 3.

I may call them again one day, who knows...they seem to make a nice product. But it's not likely, and if the same guy answers the phone in the same manner, and flat blows me off again, I won't even try a fourth time. I mean I could understand being busy, really...but this was flat out boredom on wheels =).

We are in the process of bringing on additional sales staff. Our outside sales rep starts this week and our sales office was just rearranged last week for an additional salesperson. If you have any specific product questions or want to chit-chat about your car send me a PM.
