I was reading on a lightning forum and someone said something about they would put the vht trackbite on there street radials and it helps a good bit for grip so I was wondering if someone has ever tried this? I was thinking buying a gallon and trying it. Anyone ever tried?

I want to rig up a sprayer in each wheel well and make it spray the tire with it.

It does help. VHT is like a tacky glue and is also what tracks spray down to help with traction. I apply it to my slicks with a paint brush and I also use it on my supercharger belt to help keep it from slipping.

Guys that race in the F.A.S.T. racing class will soak the whole tire in VHT in an attempt to hook up. If you aren't familiar with that class, FAST stands for Factory Appearing Stock Tire and it is for '55-'74 Musclecars only, no factory race cars(68 Hemi Chrysler A-bodies for example). Some of the competitors have made high 10 second passes (not a typo).........on OE reproduction bias-ply tires. I'd say it works.

If you want to read more about FAST, the link is below. It really is jaw dropping. I first discovered it at the first Year One Bristol Bash. I was checking out a Plum Crazy Hemi Challenger that I thought was a show car, then later saw him pull it up to the line and I expected to see a mid-low 13 second pass and he blasted off an 11.8x @ around 122-123.
