Traction control question

I was driving a buddies 04 GT today and noticed it did not have traction control. I thought all 2001 and up had it, and 99 and 00 it was optional. Anybody know the answer to this?

It was optional in 2004. It came with the $800 ABS.

yup, i remember before i got my 02 i was building an 04 on fords website. it was part of the ABS option

Ford got cheap, the ABS/TC became optional again.

my 04 is ABS and trac control delete and I like it that way!! alot less BS when it comes time to buy axles and do the line lock. doesn't stop as good as an ABS car but some bigger binders will take care of that problem!

For a track car, I agree.

For a daily driven car owned by someone who lives with a family or friends (probably 99.99% of us), I like having ABS/TC. I'd hate to get a phone call from my wife/gf/son/daughter/friend saying they just wrecked the car on a wet road.

I justhate the traction control. It was designed only with safty in mind not performance.

you can not drive the car hard with it enabled. I have driven cars where the traction control proably helped you drive the car harder. On my car it just falls on its face when it kicks in. totaly crappy system.
