pour 1 quart of Motorcraft Mercon automatic transmission fluid into the torque converter, which will prime the front pump and get the converter filled during engine startup and a filled torque converter will hold approx. 4 quarts. and the tranny holds approx. 24.6 pints of fluid roughly 12 quarts with a dry converter.... so after all is said and i did'nt confuse you add 1 quart to the torque converter install converter and tranny and add approx 11 quarts to tranny drive and allow tranny to heat up and check fluid level and fill to proper level.....

Remember to check the level while the car is idling.. If you have an extra trans cooler, it will take a little more fluid
