My tranny crapped out on me at the track. I put it in OverDrive and it acts like its in neutral when it gets over 20 MPH or so. (It did have 150000 miles on it, lol)

I think I might need a new overdrive band and/or tranny servo. Would putting in a manual valve body bypass my broken parts in the tranny?? Just a shot in the dark, I'm not too familiar with AOD.

That would be nice though, cuz Im thinking about rebuilding the tranny for race conditions so it doesn't die on me again later in the car's life?

Thanks a bunch!

James

Nay, that wouldn't help much. The band is actually deep in the tranny, and would require you to pull the tranny from the car to replace. I was in the same situation and after days of agonizing and wondering, I just trashed the AOD and went with a T5...best thing I ever did.

If ya got to pull it out, to fix one part, you may as well build the whole thing. Last thing you want is to half ass fix it and have it go on you again. Better save up for a rebuild.
