Hello,
I have a 98 stang GT with a 5 speed. The other day I was driving, and I noticed smoke coming from under my car. I pulled over and looked under the car and saw white smoke coming from the tops of the cats, and I saw fluid all over the area around the tail of the tranny. So I drove home and jacked it up and looked at it and it appears that the tranny is leaking from the tail shaft seal and onto the cats. It only seems to be gettign worse. Someone told me that this was a common problem, but if it was wouldn't I have heard about it before. Can anyone help me????

it could just be the seal in the back of the tailshaft. my car is an auto, but i had the same problem, but it also shook at certain speeds. it turned out the bushing in there was worn down and causing the vibration, which caused it to leak at the seal.
for yours, it might just be only the seal, unless ur car's been driving funny.
